Want to know the answer to THE question we hear most often online and in store?
Beard oil is used to moisturize the skin, soften and nourish the hair and is particularly effective in Beard oil is used to moisturize the skin, soften and nourish the hair and is particularly effective in the growth phase of the beard. So ideal for the new bearded man!
Like the oil, the balm is mainly used to moisturize and soften the hair, but its particularity is that it is especially effective to help give shape and hold to your beard when it is made longer. It's kind of the equivalent of hair pomade for your beard.
The balm often contains beeswax to help give hold, you want to use it primarily on the hair and not on the face, as that could block the pores of your skin. The balm will last much longer than the oil. If you put it on in the morning, chances are it will last all day.
In short, if you have itchy skin, we'll go with the beard oil, and if you have a longer beard and need a little bit of hold, the balm is in order! Can I use the oil and balm too? Yes, if you have itchy skin even with a long beard, the oil will help moisturize the skin and therefore help with the itchiness.
A little bonusIf you have to use beard oil or beard balm, we highly recommend using a boar bristle brush.
The brush will help exfoliate your face and remove any debris, dead skin that may be there and the micro scales of the brush will help keep the balm and disperse it more effectively.
Hands work too, but it will make your hands oily, and you won't get all the benefits of the brush.
